An Evening with the First Lady of Iceland Eliza Reid

On 29 February please join the Canada Club and your fellow members for a special evening with the First Lady of Iceland Eliza Reid.

Born and raised near Ottawa, Eliza became First Lady of Iceland in 2016. In addition to fulfilling her international and national responsibilities as First Lady, she has authored the critically acclaimed Secrets of the Sprakkar: Iceland's Extraordinary Women and How They are Changing the World, and co-founded the Iceland Writers Retreat, an annual event that introduces people to Iceland's literary heritage. Her first novel, a classic mystery set in Iceland, will be published in early 2025. Eliza has recently spoken at the Emirates Literary Festival, and last year attended The King’s Coronation and visited Canada on an official state visit.

Eliza will speak to the Canada Club on feminism, her writing, and the differences and similarities between Canada and Iceland. The evening will be held at Fidelio, a unique performance venue in Central London that recreates the atmosphere of an early twentieth century salon.
